A technology company, built one product at a time.
Nordrift designs, builds and operates technology products across software, robotics and embedded systems. One team, based in Ireland.
How the portfolio works
Nordrift is the parent company. The things it makes, apps and hardware alike, carry their own names and their own identities. Volt is the first. What comes after it will follow the same pattern.
Nordrift appears as the signature rather than the headline: on the app's splash screen, as the developer on Google Play, and on each product's About screen. The products do the talking.
The goal isn't one product. It's a portfolio: software and hardware, shipped by one team, each one built well enough to stand on its own.
What we work on
One engineering practice across software, robotics and embedded systems, with electronics underneath all three. Most products draw on more than one.
Software
Mobile applications and developer tools, designed for daily use rather than a demo.
Robotics
Mechanical design, control systems and autonomous navigation, from enclosure to firmware.
Embedded systems
Circuit and PCB design, sensor integration and the firmware that ties them together.
Electronics
The bench work underneath all three. Volt, our first product, is built for it.
How we build
Built to stand on its own
Every product has its own name, its own identity and a reason to exist without the others.
Made for daily use
Tools that open fast, do one job well and stay out of the way, designed for real work rather than a demo.
Nothing collected that isn't needed
No accounts, no analytics and no tracking in our apps. Volt runs with no permissions at all.
Shipped when ready
New products are announced when they're finished, not before.
The mark
The O in NORDRIFT is cut corner to corner. Fold its two halves shut and it becomes the N, which is the mark you'll see on its own on app icons and avatars. Drag to fold it.
